Why we should join IEM as student member?
1. If you are IEM student member, after you graduated, you will get a title of "Engr" before your name. In the workspace, there are a lot of job titles are so called as "xxx engineer", no one will know you are a Engineering graduates if you didn't have a title in front of your name. May be you will think that it is not important, but you will find out the importance in future.
2. IEM will help you if you wish to become Professional Engineer. There are a lot of Ir in IEM. They will help you by organizing some seminars as well as workshop for you to achieve the title of Ir. Join as a student member, you will be given chances to join those seminar and interact with Ir or going-to-be Ir.
There are a lot of reason you should join IEM as student member, but you will get nothing if you didn't really involve in the activities.
Why I sound like I am promoting IEM?
I like to share good thing, but I found out IEM too late in my University life. After I found out IEM, I plan to join the activities. Unfortunately, I am too late for it. Therefore, I share with you all these so that you can explore IEM by you own.
To my fellow friends, don't let yourself have a chance to regret in future. I won't get any allowance from anyone. I am not promoting IEM, but I truly feel that IEM's activities is good for us, future engineers.
What should you do if you want to join?
If you are interested, please download the form from the link below. By the way, you NEED NOT to include your birth cert while submitting the form. Although the birth cert is one of the checklist in the form.
There are two forms you need to fill in. One is IEM Student Membership form and another is Dean Approval Letter. All are in the .zip file.
If you are MMU students, you can submit your form to Dean's secretary, Miss Shieda. No worries that your result will be exposed to others. Our Dean, Prof Chuah will submit the form for us.

the iem0607@yahoogroups.com is the current committee yahoo group, the other was the past one. i believe you would reach them by either of the email addresses. but i think iemgs0607 would be better :)
